On Sunday afternoon, the Houston Dynamo 2 released a press release announcing the signing of Mexican midfielder Paolo Rios. The 22 year old joins the Dynamo Dos from Liga MX BBVA Club America.

In the release, Houston Dynamo FC assistant general manager and director of soccer operations had this to say about the signing.

“We are looking forward to Paolo joining Houston Dynamo 2,” Houston Dynamo FC assistant general manager and director of soccer operations Nick Kowba said. “The purpose of the second team is to provide a pathway for high potential players to launch their professional careers. Paolo had an impressive youth career at Club America and we look forward to him continuing his development in our professional environment.”

Rios signed with Club America in 2018 and had one appearance with the first team. The central midfielder captained the U-20 side to a Clasura championship in 2021-2022.

Rios is expected to join the Dynamo DOs following Sunday's home match at AVEVA Stadium.
