Houston Dynamo to compete in Leagues Cup 2023

The Houston Dynamo announced on Friday, January 20th, their selection to participate in the Leagues Cup 2023. The Leagues Cup is a tournament featuring teams from Liga MX and Major League Soccer.

Although the groups were announced on Friday, the schedule has not yet been set. Houston will play in a group combining Santos Laguna and MLS side Orlando City SC. All three teams will compete in the South Region 2.

The tournament comprises of four regions broken into four sections. Each team will play each other once in group play with the top two teams advancing to the Round of 32. In-state rivals Austin FC and FC Dallas will compete in the South region as well. ATX is South Region 1 along with FC Juarez and Mazaltan FC while FCD faces off against NECAXA and MLS foe Charlotte FC in South Region 4.
