Houston Dynamo Academy player Andre Gitau named to 2022 MLS NET All Star Game

Houston Dynamo Academy player Andre Gitau will represent Houston at the 2022 MLS NEXT All-Star Game on August 10, 2022. The national spotlight will give Gitau, the youngest player (15) on the inaugural roster, a chance to shine before a national audience

Gitau has been a member of the Dynamo Academy program since 2018. A regular on the U-17 U.S. Youth National Team, he has seen his star rise over the past year. It began with a preseason goal as member of the Dynamo first team in February. In April, he was named to the Rising XI squad prior to the Adidas Generation Cup. June followed with another accolade as he was named to the "Best of the Game" U-16 roster. Now comes the All-Star selection.

The young up and coming star is a member of the West squad. Each of the players were selected by the MLS NEXT Player Selection Committee. Criteria for selection included being U-18 and having competed at one of the MLS Next showcase events. The players will be fully integrated into the MLS All-Star experience.
