The Houston Dynamo 2023 schedule was released late Tuesday afternoon. It's design gives Houston Dynamo fans a quick taste of how the team will do in 2023 with one caveat. The 2022 season started off strong and then tailed away the final five months of the season.
The front office begins with publicly voiced high hopes and expectations for 2023 while the fanbase is reserving judgement with a more realistic wait and see attitude. Houston has not been a relevant soccer power for the better part of a decade in Major League Soccer. There is little reason to think that changes this coming season.
Ben Olsen, the newly installed coach of the Houston Dynamo, has his work cut out for him. Houston begins the season on the road against FC Cincinnati on February 25th. Four of their first six games will be against teams that qualified for the playoffs in 2022 including Austin FC. The ATX side will be Houston's 2023 home opener opponent on March 18th.
Houston starts on the road in 2023 giveng the organization time to finish the new East Side Club and mesh seating installation. The front office led by owner Ted Segal may be the only ones who really care about the renovations as the fanbase is more drawn to winning. Winning soccer will bring the excitement and the revenue.
The Dynamo kick off the season almost two months to the day on the road and by late March and early April fans will know the real hopes for 2023.
