Late Sunday afternoon, the NWSL announced the quarterfinal pairings for Sunday, October 16, 2022. The Dash in the playoffs for the first time in team history will square off with the Kansas City Current at home in PNC Stadium. Per the release by the National Women's Soccer League, Houston kicks off the soccer doubleheader as the Number 4 seed in a 4:00pm CT kick on Paramount Plus.

The Houston Dash earned the fourth seed after surviving a spirited match in Washington D.C. The best road team in the NWSL won 2-1 and then waited to see if Racing Louisville would lay the spoiler to Kansas City and they did. The 1-0 win by RCL gave Houston its first ever postseason match at home.

Following the Dash game, San Diego the first team in NWSL history to secure a berth in its inaugural season will host the Chicago Red Stars. That kick is set for 9:00pm CT on CBS Sports Network.

The OL Reign who overtook the Portland Thorns on the final day of the season to win their sixth Supporters Shield while still looking for the elusive first title earns a first round bye. Both OLR and Portland will face the winners of Houston/Kansas City and San Diego/Chicago respectively. Those games will take place on October 23rd.

Championship Sunday is scheduled for October 29th in Washington DC with 7:00pm CT kick-off.
