When Houston Dash fans wake up on Wednesday morning, their team may be sitting atop the NWSL table. A win on their first trip to the West Coast would extend their unbeaten streak to six games. Houston faces a tough challenge against NWSL newcomer Angel City FC.

Just days after posting one of their best games in Franchise history in a 5-0 rout of the Orlando Pride, Houston looks to build on the momentum. The dash, though, will have to do it without their star Rachel Daly who is gone on international duty.

Suffice it so day, the Dash are not without other top players. Houston has been built to be a team that can play strong minus key players. Nichelle Prince who posted her second career hat trick against Orlando in her last outing will be on the pitch as will Maria Sanchez.

Houston's surge up the table has come as a result of strong defense and a balanced attack. Angel City enters the match losing two in a row when they welcome in the Dash. ACFC will be facing a backline that has not surrendered multiple goals all season. Houston has allowed just three goals all season while ACFC is coming off a loss in which they surrendered three goals. Houston has a league leading plus eight goal differential. The offense scores on 41% of the shots they put on frame.

ACFC has been shutout in consecutive matches and faces Dash keeper Jane Campbell who has three clean sheets in six matches this season. Houston has recently gone to a three back set and it has allowed just one goal in the last two outings.

The Dash will be squaring off against a couple of familiar faces. Forward Jasmyne Spencer and defender Cari Roccaro previously played for Houston.

Houston sits just two points shy of the San Diego Wave who handed them their only loss of the season. Fans can watch the first ever match between these two clubs on Paramount+. Kick-off is set for 9pm CDT.
