The trade for Ebony Salmon continues to get better and better. Racing Louisville is probably wishing they could have a redo after seeing what Salmon has done as a member of the Houston Dash. The 21 year old forward was named to the NWSL Best XI for August.
The English native has stepped into the offensive role vacated by the departure of former Dash captain Rachel Daly. Obtained in a trade with Racing Louisville FC for cash, Salmon is the steal of the season. Having played just 76 minutes across the first 10 weeks of the season for RCL, she has answered all of the hype and the questions in Houston. Averaging a goal every 95 minutes, she has led the Houston Dash to the cusp of their first ever playoff berth.
Since her arrival, Salmon has now been named NWSL Player of the Week, the July NWSL Player of the Month, the Best XI for July and now again in August. In addition, she has earned a recall to the English team with an opportunity to be a regular something that appeared dead in the water during her time at Racing.
Salmon came to Houston with something to prove and she's not done yet.
“I’m taking my anger from not playing in Louisville and I’m going to show what I can do here when I get on the pitch.”
