The Houston Dynamo 2 remained perfect at home following a three nil win over SKC II. The win stretched the unbeaten streak to seven for Houston at AVEVA Stadium and placed them second in the MLS Next Pro Western Conference table.

All four top teams in MLS Next Pro won their respective games this weekend keeping the race for the playoffs tight as ever. The four Columbus Crew 2, St. Louis FC, Seattle Sounders 2 and the Houston Dynamo crushed their opposition by a combine score of 10-1. St. Louis FC scored a 2-1 win while the other three recorded clean sheets.

The Dynamo Dos win saw 16 year old midfielder Brooklyn Raines nothc his first professional goal. A mainstay on the youth national teams, Raines took a pass just three minutes into the second half from 17 year old Juan Castilla and rifled a shot the caromed off the post from the top of the penalty box before nestling in the back of the net.

Houston had taken the halftime lead on Marcelo Palomino's sixth goal of the season in the second minute of first half stoppage time. The team's leading scorer curled his fourth set piece of the season from just outside the 18 yard box to give the Dos a 1-0 lead. It was also his second consecutive game with a free kick goal and his second game winner off a freek kick.

Kyle Edwards closed out the scoring with his third tally of the season in the 77th minute. His first touch volley knocked off the underside of the crossbar and into the back of the net.

Although multiple goals and cleans sheets is an expectation for every game, Dynamo Dos head coach Kenny Bundy said its something his team trains for; "Everything that we do, everything we train is back to wanting to score multiple goals and wanting to keep clean sheets. It's been a mentality." Houston recorded its eighth multiple goal game of the season. They now have seven wins, one draw and zero losses in those games.

The clean sheet recorded was goalkeeper Xavier Valdez' fifth of the season and the team's eighth.

Houston's homestand continues next Sunday as they host the Colorado rapids 2 side to AVEVA Stadium for an 8:00pm kick-off.
